ARKids First
ARKids First is available to Arkansas children up to the age of 19. The family's income must fall within the family income guidelines for the child to be eligible for the program. Eligible applicants will not have had group health insurance for at least six months.
If recently covered by group health insurance, there is a 6 month waiting from the termination date of the previous coverage.
ARKids First covers preventive care medically necessary services:
- Routine physical exams
- Dental care
- Vision Care
- Hearing exams
- Doctor visits
- In-Patient hospital
- Prescription drugs
- X-ray and lab services
- Ambulance
No premium are required. There may be nominal copayments for some services. Inpatient hospital care requires 20% coinsurance for the first day only. Out-of-pocket maximum is equal to 5% of gross family income.
