Connecticut HUSKY Children's Health Insurance Plan
HUSKY is for Connecticut's uninsured children under 19. All uninsured children qualify for HUSKY. income guidelines determine benefit levels. HUSKY coverage is also available to pregnant women.
HUSKY does not have a waiting period, but a child coming off an employer-paid health plan must wait two months for HUSKY coverage to start.
HUSKY pays for comprehensive health care coverage, including:
- Doctor visits
- Diagnostic Lab and X-ray
- Hospital Care
- Prescription drugs
- Routine physicals
- Dental, eye care and hearing exams
- Emergency care
The HUSKY program
is offered through Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Community Health Network, Preferred One and Health Net Healthy Options.
The HUSKY A plan provides coverage without co-pays. The HUSKY B plan has $5 office visit co-pays.
Members are enrolled for one year and are subject eligibility review after 12 months.
