Florida KidCare Children's Health Insurance Program
The Florida KidCare Program is for uninsured Florida residents under 19 years of age who meet the Family Income Guidelines. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens or a qualified non-citizen. If covered by group health coverage, the applicant must wait six months from the termination date of the prior coverage if that coverage was voluntarily terminated.
Florida KidCare includes the following benefits:
- Well child care and office visits
- In-patient Hospital
- Prescription Drugs
- Diagnostic Lab and x-ray
- Speech/hearing therapy
- Emergency and ambulance
- Dental
Most families pay $15 or $20 a month. Some benefits require a $5 or $10 co-payment.
Coverage is for 12 months. Members who confirm eligibility requirements will be renewed for additional one year periods.
