MaineCare Children's Health Insurance Program
MaineCare is for uninsured Maine residents under age 19. Family income must be within family income limits. Some uninsured pregnant women can qualify for MaineCare.
There are no waiting periods.
MaineCare covers the following:
- Doctor Visits
- Routine Check-Ups
- Prescription Drugs
- In-patient Hospitalization
- Lab and X-ray
- Dental and Vision
There are no premiums for most families. Some families pay between $8 to $64 a month. Some co-payments are required for certain covered medical expenses dependent on income. Most families pay no co-payments.
MaineCare coverage lasts for one year. Members can renew if still eligibile.
