Mississippi Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
Uninsured Mississippi residents under 19 may be eligible for CHIP if their family income is within the Income requirements. Applicants must be without prior coverage for six months to qualify. There is no waiting. Coverage starts in about 30 days after approval.
Mississippi CHIP covers:
- Office Visits
- Healthy Check-ups
- Prescription Drugs
- Hospital care
- Lab and Radiology
- Dental and Vision
There are no premiums. Some families may have to make a small co-payments for some services. There are no deductibles.
Eligibility is for one year. Members can renew for another year by completing a new application before the termination date of coverage.
