Montana Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

Montana CHIP is for uninsured children under the age of 19 who are Montana residents. Eligible applicants must be U.S. citizens or qualified aliens. Household income must be within the income guidelines. There is a waiting period of 30 days if there was prior health plan coverage.

Montana CHIP covers:

  • Office visits
  • Prescription Drugs
  • Lab and x-ray
  • Dental and Vision
  • Hospitalization
  • Emergency Care

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana provides health insurance to CHIP members.

Member families pay no premiums. Some small co-payments will be required for some covered services.

Coverage is for one year. Families need to reapply every 12 months.
