Washington Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)
Washington CHIP is for uninsured state children under 19 years old. Eligible applicants will be U.S. citizens or qualified immigrants. Family income must be within published income guidelines. Applicants who had who had previous group health insurance may have up to a 4 month waiting period for children of families who have voluntarily cancelled previous health insurance.
Washington CHIP covers:
- Doctor Visits
- Prescription Drugs
- Hospital Care
- Mental Health
Premiums are $15 per month. There are no co-payments.
Coverage is for up to 6 months at a time. Members can renew for an additional six months if eligibility requirements continue to be met.
