Illinois Health Insurance Risk Pool
Plans
There are five health insurance plan options. Each plan offers a choice of deductibles from $500 to $5,000. The lifetime maximum is $1.5 million.
Eligibility
- U.S. Citizen or legal resident
- Illinois resident for 6 months
- Declined for individual health insurance for health conditions
- Offered individual health coverage at a higher rate than what similar CHIP coverage
- Applicant has a presumptive medical condition listed by ICHIP
- Persons eligible for Medicare are not eligible for Plan 3
- Qualify under federal HIPAA eligibility - minimum of 18 months of continuous coverage on a group health plan (Plan 5)
