New Mexico Medical Insurance Pool (NMMIP)
NMMIP Plan Options
- PPO Plan with a choice of $500, $1,000 or $2,000 deductibles and 20% coinsurance. The maximum out-of-pocket expense is $2,500, $3,500, or $5,000 respectively.
- PPO plan with a choice of $5,000, $7,500 or $10,000 deductibles and no coinsurance. The plan pays 100% after deductible is met.
Standard Eligibility
- New Mexico resident
- Declined for health insurance coverage, or
- Offered medical insurance at a premium that exceeds the rate of the $500 deductible NMMIP plan, or
- Offered private coverage with a restrictive rider or exclusion for a pre-existing medical condition for 12 months months or more, or
- Diagnosed with a medical condition specified by NMMIP
Portability Eligibility
- New Mexico resident
- 10 months or more of prior creditable group health insurance coverage, and
- Within 63 days prior to NMMIP application, group health coverage terminated or COBRA continuation terminated
