Texas Health Insurance Risk Pool (THIRP)
Plans
- PPO plans with a choice of $1,000, $2,500 or $5,000 deductibles and 20% coinsurance. The maximum out-of-pocket annual expense is $4,000, $5,500, or $8,000 respectively.
THIRP Eligibility
- Uninsured Texas resident under the age of 65 with three continuous years in the U.S. and
- Declined for private health insurance due to pre-existing conditions, or
- Certification from a licensed insurance agent that you will be declined for coverage due to a pre-existing medical condition, or
- Offered coverage with riders that exclude pre-existing conditions, or
- Diagnosed a medical conditions that qualifies automatic eligibility by THIRP
HIPAA Eligibility
- Texas resident under the age of 65
- Covered by group health insurance continuously for the last 18 months, and
- Applied for THIRP within 63 days of termination of coverage, or
- Eligible for Trade Adjustment Assistance
