Utah Health Insurance Risk Pool (HIP)
Plans
- A $500 deductible PPO plan with 20% coinsurance. The maximum out-of-pocket expense is $1,500 annually, deductible included.
- A $1,000 deductible PPO plan with 20% coinsurance. The maximum out-of-pocket expense is $2,000 annually, deductible included.
Eligibility
Must be an uninsured resident of Utah for 12 months preceding your HIPUtah application submittal date and meet the following requirements.
- Not eligible for Medicaid or Medicare
- Your previous health insurance coverage must have been involuntarily terminated and was not cancelled for non-payment of premium
- You must not be eligible for group health insurance
- You do not need to be a 12 month resident of Utah if you had coverage under another state risk pool plan
- You do not need to be a 12 month resident of Utah if you are HIPAA eligible
